Duty free shopping is very popular especially to guests of a foreign country. However the duty free shopping is not available everywhere. Below are popular areas for shopping which do provide the luxury of duty free shopping. Location wise, there are two main areas for shopping namely Castries which is the capital city and Gros Islet which is a popular touristic area.

- First of all we have the Castries market. What makes shopping here so special is the fact that you mix and mingle with the lovely and friendly locals os this island. This area sells all local products including fresh produce from local farmers like peppers, mangoes, tomatoes, coconuts and all sorts of local spices.

Local craftsmen also provide an array of unique souvenirs including woven straw baskets, leather sandals, coal pots, hats and carved wooden portraits. Local spices, herbal remedies and local snacks and treats are all available at the local market. The Castries market has been listed on National Geographic as one of the top ten markets int he world. Right across from the market is the Castries Vendor Arcade which is the ideal place to find souvenirs for your loved ones back home! This place is opened daily where a melting pot of local handmade products are for sale t reasonable prices.

- Second on the list we have La Place Carenage which is situated right on the Castries Wharf which are ideal for guests arriving on cruise ships. La place Carenage is guaranteed to give you a first class shopping experience. This two story building has multiple shops offering the best in jewelry, clothes, perfumes and keepsakes. Not too far from this location we have another great location for shopping called Pointe Seraphine. which is located at the edge f the Castries Harbour. Here no doubt is the largest duty free shopping complex in St.Lucia. Everything from jewelry, brand name clothing, footwear, Souvenirs and much more can be found here!

- Thirdly we move a little southwards to the Marigot Bay area where for shopping we have the Marigot Marina Village. This Picturesque marina is small but very convenient. High end boutiques for jewelry and souvenirs are found here along with an ideal supermarket where you can find anything that you would possibly need. The marina village is opened daily and is located right opposite our restaurant the Chateau Mygo Restaurant.

- In the Gros-Islet area there are a number of shops and malls perfect for shopping. These shops can be found particularly in Rodney Bay a very touristic area of St.lucia. One should stop by the Baywalk Mall while in Rodney Bay. This newly built mall has dozens of international brand name shops that are guaranteed to catch ones attention including US polo, MAC, Hugo Boss and Dockers. All shops contain duty free concession and equipped with whatever one shall be searching for. Opposite the Baywalk Mall is the JQ's shopping mall. One can find everything here from drugstores to supermarkets to harder stores and banks. To better serve the customers a food court with free internet connection is also available. IGY located right on the Rodney bay marina is also a good choice when shopping. Here one can mine and shop with sailors from around the world. Wines, rums and liqueurs are also good to purchase here because of the array of choices one has and the discounted prices.
